"I've always had a feeling of being different" - Dèbra

I’m Dèbra, I’m 36 years old, and residing in Burgh-Haamstede.

When I was 34 years old, I received my ASD diagnosis. I've always had a feeling of being different, and with this diagnosis I found out that this was actually true. I only got my diagnosis at that time because I had a burnout. Working 5 days a week at a high position turned out to be far too much for me with my autism. I now have great guidance from an autism coach, and things are getting better and better.

I feel very insecure about my appearance, and would like to participate in the FANN photo project to be more proud of myself. So I can look back at the photos and think “Look, how beautiful!” I’m proud that in the meantime I’m working again, and that I have recovered after my burnout.

I would like to tell other people with autism to search for good support, someone with whom you feel safe and who gives you tips. 
It’s really worth it.
